Medical Assessment

Before you can participate in Immersion Therapy, you must complete a medical assessment with your GP. The medical assessment certifies you as medically fit to participate in Immersion Therapy. This will be discussed at the ‘Meet and Greet,’ and the Medical and Screening form provided to you.

What to expect in your first session?

Being comfortable is key and we will work with you at your pace through the initial sessions. Some participants enter the water in the first session while others may take a few sessions to get comfortable.

During the first session you can expect the following:

  • Meet your Accredited Exercise Physiologist
  • Tailoring the equipment to your requirements
  • Discuss communication methods

Once ready we will commence learning the core skills required for Immersion Therapy:

  • We begin on the surface, then with face in the water, and finally going fully underwater
  • We go slow, there is no rush. This takes as long as is needed.
  • When we get to full immersion, we will work with you to ensure we get the correct set up.

Following commencement

After getting started with Immersion Therapy we will work with you to continue to tailor your sessions and outcomes as needed. We recognize that each day can be different for our participants, and we can navigate this as needed.

In addition, you will review your service plan, agreement and goals and celebrate your success and outcomes achieved collaboratively as often as required, but at a maximum every 3 months.
